This page describes how Edgevix products handle reminder content, account metadata, access keys, and device-local notification data. It currently covers Beacon, and may expand into a product index as Edgevix releases additional products.
1. Overview
Edgevix builds software systems intended to stay useful over time. Beacon, our current reminder product, is designed to work locally first, with optional cloud features for session access and agent-created reminders.
2. Data We Process
- Reminder titles, notes, and result summaries created by the user
- Reminder content written by user-authorized AI agents or external systems
- Reminder metadata such as due time, anchor time zone, reminder mode, status, and occurrence timing
- Access key metadata including key name, permission, creation time, and last used time
- Lightweight session data used to access optional cloud features
3. Local-First Behavior
Core reminder data can be stored locally on the device so reminders continue to work without a network connection. Local notification scheduling depends on on-device storage and the notification permission granted by the user.
4. Cloud Features
When a user enables cloud features, Edgevix may store account profile information, session records, access key metadata, remotely created reminders, and reminder occurrence rows used for sync and server-side state.
5. AI Agents and External Systems
Beacon can accept reminder writes from user-authorized AI agents and external systems. These systems authenticate using access keys created by the user. Edgevix does not independently decide which reminders should exist; it only stores and displays reminders the user or authorized systems choose to create.
6. Security and Keys
Access keys are shown in full only once when created. Users can delete keys at any time. Deleted keys can no longer be used to access Beacon APIs. Users should treat access keys as secrets and share them only with trusted systems.
7. Notifications
Beacon uses local notifications to surface important reminders. Notification permission is requested from the operating system and can be revoked by the user at any time in device settings.
